Soooooo started over with a new char on Siel this time! Jowah got a copy and we both joined a legion with Tay/Genko and a couple of their friends! Ended up making generic purple-haired girl with too much makeup again. I’ll work on a better char for retail, lol. Jowy is pressuring me to make a male, but they all end up looking so bad D::::::::::: All the male hair is… metrosexual.

Finally tried crafting! This game makes me hate FFXI more and more. You get to keep a complete list of recipes you’ve “learned” and can craft multiple times in a row and afk without a bot.Also, you can actually make useful shit and not just throw money into it in hopes of reaching the max level and HQ’ing.

Keep em coming Kerb. You’ve already convinced me to pre-order. If the next beta weekend proves to be enjoyable I’ll probably be leaving FFXI as well.
Is there anything you aren’t liking so far?
I’m hoping it has some of the same “pull” that kept me logging into FFXI for the past 6 years.
Gameplay-wise, I’m absolutely loving it. Although my only frame of reference is FFXI, so take that as you will. The story is pretty interesting, and all the little quests can be fun if you enjoy reading the dialog. Combat’s fun and active and there’s always something to do.
My major concerns are the PvP aspect, which I’m not a massive fan of but trying to keep an open mind to, and the community. Aionsource forums are full of 12 year old A’murkan tards. I’m hoping that site is just Aion’s “alla” and a more mature community will evolve after launch. But hey, millions of kiddies didn’t seem to affect WoW too badly.
If the higher end of the game is any decent the community thing will probably solve itself.
In WoW you get around the maturity level by simply actively ignoring the majority of the playerbase. The US servers were a lot worse than the EU ones though.
